Apartment Review for Powell Gardens - Portland, OR

My boyfriend and I have lived here for almost a year, and we love it here. We liked the manager who rented to us right away, very friendly and open. Our apartment has beautiful 1940's tile in the kitchen and hardwood in the bedroom. It also has the original telephone and phone book nook, which I think is funky and great. The walls are super thick; we've never heard a single conversation/television noise/etc. from any of our neighbors the whole time we've lived here. The apartments have beautiful gardens that are maintained weekly, access year round to Cleveland High's newly renovated track, and are situated within walking distance of Hawthorne, Clinton, and Division. Plus, there is ALWAYS parking in both parking lots and on the street, which is definitely hard to find in Portland. The buildings are 70 years old and show it in some places; there was obviously wallpaper up in ours that's just been painted over, for example, but I kind of like the character that my place has because of quirky things like this.
